Question: Can you raise chickens in Lebanon?
Answer: The raising and keeping of livestock, including poultry (chickens) is permitted in the Rural Lands One, Two and Three zoning districts as an agricultural use under the terms of the Zoning Ordinance. A permit is not required for this use in the Rural Lands zoning districts.
On March 12, 2013 the Lebanon Voters approved a zoning amendment that now allows up to 4 hens, no roosters in the Downtown residential zoning districts (R-1, R-2, R-3, NC, RO, RO-1). You must obtain a zoning permit, and be able to comply with required minimum yard setbacks for the placement of the required secure enclosure and chicken coop.
